Please review the ordering and shipping information below, then the hardwood flooring sample options in the section that follows, which includes associated costs for the materials (if any) and the typical time required.
To place your sample order, simply reply to your quote by email, call us, or message us at samples@penningtonhardwoods.com, and we will confirm your samples order.
We will contact you when your samples are ready, and shipping options include your choice of service from UPS or FedEx. You may also provide your shipping account number if you prefer the carrier bill you directly.
UNFINISHED AND CLEARCOAT SAMPLES
Samples of our most popular Domestic and Exotic species, either unfinished or simply clear-coated, are typically available for shipment within 1-3 days. There is no charge for these materials. If a requested sample is not in stock at the time of your request, we will gladly inform you of when it is expected to be replenished.
PRIOR CUSTOM PROJECT APPROVAL SAMPLES
These samples are selected from remnants of prior custom projects and represent a wide range of species, textures, stains, and finish types. We can search these materials for examples related to your request, usually within 5–7 days. There is a $25 charge for these materials. While we can often locate something close, an exact match is uncommon due to the many variables involved.
STANDARD STAINED AND FINISHED SAMPLES
These selections include six domestic species offered in up to six designer-curated colors and are typically available for shipment within 1-3 days. There is no charge for these materials. If a requested sample is not in stock, we will advise when it should be available. Note: This collection will be fully stocked as of March 2026.
YOUR MADE TO ORDER CUSTOM SAMPLES
These are the samples that most of our clients order. They are crafted specifically for your project to your exact preferences, including domestic or exotic species, grade, width, artistic texture(s), custom stain colors, finish type and sheen level. These typically ship within 7-14 days. A charge of $250 covers the materials for most of our custom samples and is credited toward your flooring order.
